Adam Chamberlin received his MFA in theatrical design from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently a member of the faculty and Lighting Designer for VCU Department of Dance and Choreography. He was the resident lighting designer for One World Theatre in Austin, Texas, where he designed lights for groups such as The Cowboy Junkies, Little Feat, Jerry Jeff Walker, Stars of Maximum Dance, Tangokenisis, and Dancescapes. He has also designed lig hting for Silverstar Entertainment, River City Pops, American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensives, University of Scranton, Dalton High School, Charisma Modern Dance Co., Sharir + Bustamante Danceworks, and Andrea Beckman Collaborative Dance Project. He has been involved with the Institute of Digital and Performing Arts, and has conducted workshops internationally on the use and control of intelligent lighting fixtures and how to design with them. Recently, he was a co-program director for a study abroad program that took students to Costa Rica to explore the relationships between automated lighting and choreography. He is currently the resident designer for Amaranth contemporary dance company, under the artistic direction of Scott Putman.
